About

• Inner Ear are a performance art collective based at the Tank on Svano, Sweden. Working together for many years at a range of different acoustic venues they have developed their own methodology and ways of working with sound, art and performance.
• In collaboration with visiting Deep Listening ® practitioners they are pleased to present a workshop and evening performance at the Tank on the 23rd June 2019.
• Attendees of the workshop will be expected to perform in the evening performance (full training given, no experience required).
• All are welcome to come to the performance.

• Deep Listening ®  practices emerged from the lifelong work of Pauline Oliveros, IONE and Heloise Gold, and center around listening to our environment, our bodies, and our dreams. Hearing and listening are different processes. Deep Listening develops multi-dimensional awareness through collaboration and individual re-discoveries of our native ears: listening in balance with environment and body, in playful community interaction. It's a kind of soft revolution, arriving once you have become aware of your listening.
• Listening to the listening just might become a lifelong practice!

Workshop

• Workshop attendees will be guided through sonic and bodily exercises and will then expand their listening through playing together and embracing their roots, voices, and the surrounding environment. Deep Listening always prioritizes presence, which for this event means a fully celebrated 'being' in the natural and manmade environment of the cistern. We will commune with nature, each other and the sonically reverberant body of the cistern. We will honor the uniqueness of this event, the ritual of our conscious, listening togetherness.
